Tackle Overdose Now Vending Machine Ribbon-cutting

Date: December 3, 2025

Location: Gulfport, MS

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in partnership with Singing River Health System, Mississippi Public Health Institute and New Vision, we installed the first-of-its-kind on the MS Gulf Coast, FREE to the public, 24/7 Naloxone (commonly known as Narcan) vending machine outside the Emergency Department at Singing River Gulfport Hospital to fast-track access leading up to the holidays.

This machine serves as a low-barrier access point for families, bystanders, and community members alike who may be faced with a split-second decision during an overdose emergency. We were honored to have Harrison County’s newly-appointed Mayor, Hugh Keating, in attendance for the ribbon-cutting. Over 600 Naloxone boxes have been dispensed since the launch – the need is certainly there.

The event marked the beginning of a multi-pronged initiative that aims to shift attitudes, lower stigma, increase public knowledge, and, not only save, but drastically improve the lives of those who experience an overdose – helping them return to being productive members of the community.
